Development of Pedestrian-Intersection Countermeasure Crash Modification Factor (CMF)

Project Information

Project ID:
FHWA-PROJ-18-0003
Project Abstract:

The objective is to develop crash modification factor (CMF) treatments and strategies where they can apply at intersections for the convenience and safety of pedestrians, and quantify the safety effects on pedestrians as well as the intersection overall. Specifically, this project will assess the geometric design of intersection corner radii to determine and characterize the resulting crash frequency and severity, as well as traffic-speed relationships.
