Project Description
Repair damage caused by Hurricanes Maria and Irma in September of 2017. Work includes roadway reconstruction, gabion retaining wall construction, erosion repairs, and other miscellaneous work.
Route 20AZ, North Shore Drive (St. John, 18.356981N, 64.736531W) work: Floodwaters caused embankment and roadway failures along North Shore Drive (Route 20). Gabion walls would be constructed and the embankment material would be replaced. The asphalt roadway would be reconstructed.
Route 20CZ, North Shore Drive (St. John, 18.355791N, 64.745573W) work: Floodwaters caused undermining of material under the existing paved waterway along North Shore Drive (Route 20). Flowable fill material would be placed under the paved waterway.
Route 103YBZ, Highway 206 (St. John, 18.343656N, 64.762824W): Floodwaters washed out a section of the gravel roadway. The roadway would be repaired by reconstructing this section as an asphalt paved road.
